Hello January 2026

|

January brought a slower, gentle start to the year and even a little snowfall to make it extra magical. The children were so excited to see the snow settling and we wrapped up warm to work together with friends to build snowmen. There was lots of teamwork, problem- solving and laughter as the decided where to place the eyes, how big to roll the snowballs and who would add the finishing touches.

After the long Christmas break we focused on welcoming everyone back and supporting the children to settle back into routine. Through positive interactions, reassurance and plenty of time to reconnect. It was lovely to see friendships pick up right where they left off. January is always a month for rebuilding confidence, strengthening bonds and easing back into familiar rhythms.

We also began rolling out the Think Equal programme with our preschool children. Through the beautiful stories entrusted to us, we’ve been exploring emotions, equality and understanding others. Both the children and staff are thoroughly enjoying the discussions that naturally unfold from these sessions. It has already become a really special part of our week.

For World Parental Mental Health Day, the children created little notes to give to their families, sharing why they love them. These small but meaningful messages were such a lovely way to celebrate the important role families play in children’s lives, whilst gently acknowleding how important parental wellbeing is too.
