September brought lots of new beginnings at Daisy Chains as we welcomed new children, returned to some of our favourite activities and began to notice the first signs of Autumn.
We welcomes some of our newest and youngest children into Baby Bunnies this month. Our team have been supporting them to settle gently, taking time to learn their individual routines, cues and preferences and helping them to build secure, trusting relationships with their key people.
Our babies have enjoyed cosy morning pram walks around our local community, taking in the sights and sounds around them, as well as peaceful naps back at nursery. We have also introduced our new travel cots as part of our continued commitment to providing a safe and comfortable sleep environment for our youngest children.
Our Preschool children had their first visit to Forest School this month and began by getting to know the site and looking for signs that autumn is on its way. We explored changing leaves, seeds and natural treasures, encouraging the children to look closely at the world around them and notice how our environment changes with the seasons.
At nursery we have also been updating our outdoor areas to give them an autumnal feel. Seasonal resources and opportunities to explore natural materials have helped bring some of the children’s forest school discoveries and conversations into their everyday play.
Some of our Bouncing Bears have been enjoying opportunities to use our upstairs spaces, giving them new environments and experiences to explore. they also joined in with a fantastic Melody Makers session, exploring instrumental sounds, music and lots of movement!
Our Tiny Tigers took their Activasaurus session outdoors for some yoga in the fresh air. Through stretching, balancing and moving their bodies in different ways, the children have been developing their coordination, balance and body awareness whilst having lots of fun.
We are also delighted to retain our 5* food hygiene rating following our latest inspection. This is a fantastic reflection of the high standards maintained within our nursery kitchen every day and the hard work that goes into ensuring food is prepared and served safely for our children.
